Vocational Evaluation & Life Care Planning

We empower disabled and chronically ill people to reach their personal and vocational goals through expert life care planning, vocational evaluation, case management, and rehabilitation counseling.

Life Care Planning

Life care planning is a specialized service designed to provide a comprehensive and systematic approach to evaluating the long-term care needs of individuals. We develop detailed life care plans that outline necessary medical treatments, rehabilitation services, and supportive resources, along with costs, ensuring that the individual’s needs are met throughout their lifetime, in an attempt to return them, as close as possible, to their pre-injury/pre-illness function.

Vocational & Loss of Earning Capacity Evaluations

Vocational evaluations delineate an individual’s ability to work and earn wages. They can be used to understand vocational options, establish loss of future earning capacity due to an injury or disability, and develop a rehabilitation plan. Loss of earning capacity evaluations can be done in pediatric and young adult cases, as well as in cases for adults.

National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program Claims

The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) is a no-fault alternative to the traditional tort system. It provides compensation to people found to be injured by certain vaccines. These cases often require the services of a professional life care planner. We have extensive knowledge of available services, the cost of those services, and the effect of applicable insurance on costs and will testify as to the necessary items of care.

Expert Witness Testimony

In forensic cases, we have been qualified by courts as experts in vocational rehabilitation and life care planning and have many years of experience supporting and defending our opinions at deposition or trial. We provide expert witness testimony in cases including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Personal Injury

  • Medical Malpractice

  • Pediatric Injury/Disability

  • Birth Injury

  • Worker's Compensation

  • Employment Discrimination

Loss of Household Services

In some cases, individuals with a disability or injury lose the ability to provide services around their homes, such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, lawn maintenance, snow removal, etc. This loss also occurs following the death of a person. Calculating the replacement value of loss of household services involves determining what household services the individual provided before the disabling event and can no longer provide or take more time to complete. We determine replacement costs for the loss of these services.

Case & Trust Management

Case and trust management services are provided for clients with catastrophic injuries or illness or chronic disabilities to ensure their needs are being met through a process of assessment, planning, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring to improve outcomes and meet goals. As case managers, we work with individuals and their families to identify and meet goals, coordinate care, follow through with medical and therapy recommendations, help with paperwork and bill paying, etc. We identify the need for assessments, equipment, home modifications, rehabilitation services, home health services, home care, adaptive recreational and leisure programming, and other services, develop a dynamic plan, implement the plan, and monitor for completion and ongoing needs. Additionally, we have experience administering and serving as trustees for special needs or disability trusts.

Rehabilitation & Career Counseling

Rehabilitation counselors work primarily with people with disabilities to assist them in meeting their independent living, education, employment, and social, leisure, and recreational goals. We do career counseling and rehabilitation planning for individuals who are making educational or employment decisions.
