Our Mission

Laura Woodard Bio
With over 30 years of experience, Laura Woodard is a pioneer in rehabilitation counseling and life care planning. After a distinguished career at ReEntry Rehabilitation Services, Inc., she co-founded VELCP with Liz Kattman.
Laura's expertise spans vocational assessment, life care planning, career guidance, case and trust management, and rehabilitation planning, all delivered with unwavering adherence to professional standards. She has served as chair of the IALCP and as IALCP representative to the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) board. She is currently the treasurer of the Foundation for Life Care Planning and Rehabilitation Research board of directors. She has also mentored life care planners and rehabilitation counselors and supervised staff.
Laura holds a Master of Arts in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Maryland and has completed advanced training in life care planning at the University of Florida. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP), and Certified Case Manager (CCM). She has been recognized with the Life Care Planner Lifetime Achievement Award and the Sheri Jasper Memorial Recognition Award for her outstanding contributions to the field. Laura is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Life Care Planners (IALCP) and is actively involved in professional development, speaking engagements, and industry associations.

Liz Kattman Bio
Liz Kattman is a dedicated rehabilitation professional and has worked for over 30 years as a rehabilitation counselor doing counseling, life care planning, vocational assessments and case and trust management. She worked at ReEntry Rehabilitation Services, Inc., beginning after earning her Bachelor of Science in human rehabilitative services and gerontology from the University of Northern Colorado. She later earned a Master of Science in special education with an emphasis in rehabilitation counseling from Utah State University and became a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). After completing additional coursework, she became a Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP). Liz is also a Certified Case Manager (CCM).
Liz has led staff performing rehabilitation counseling, life care planning, vocational evaluations, and case management and supervised staff as they completed higher educational pursuits. She has special interests in working with older adults, working on complex cases, and doing work through the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. She is an expert in the field of rehabilitation counseling and has been qualified in a variety of settings where opinions regarding current and future care needs, loss of household services, and vocational evaluations have been requested. She has served as a case manager for multiple individuals to meet their long and short-term needs. Liz has also has been active with the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP), including serving on the Forensic Section Board for several years, as well as engaging in other professional and research efforts.
